BIAB Nails

At Faking It Hairdressing and Beauty, our BIAB (Builder In A Bottle) overlays reinforce natural nails with a light, sculpted apex for chip-resistant wear and a refined, photo-ready finish. Expect neat cuticle work, thin even layers, and a glossy seal that grows out gracefully. Ideal if you’re breaking, peeling, or want a tidy, balanced shape without heavy extensions. Infills keep your nails strong while protecting nail health so you leave polished, not punished.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BIAB and how is it different from gel polish?
BIAB is a thicker, strengthening builder gel applied in thin, controlled layers to create structure and a gentle apex. It reinforces weak or peeling nails and wears longer than standard gel polish while still looking natural and lightweight.
How long does BIAB last and when should I book infills?
Most clients enjoy 2–3 weeks of comfortable wear before an infill to rebalance growth, refine the apex and refresh colour/topcoat. Regular infills keep nails protected and prevent lifting.
Will BIAB damage my natural nails?
When applied and maintained correctly proper prep, disciplined curing and gentle e-file/hand file refinement BIAB supports nail health. We avoid aggressive filing and use soak-off/removal protocols to keep the nail plate intact.
Can I build length with BIAB or is it overlays only?
BIAB excels as a natural-nail overlay and short sculpt for subtle length and shape correction. For significant length, we’ll advise hard gel or tips, matched to lifestyle and maintenance preferences.
Who isn’t suitable for BIAB?
If you have known acrylate sensitivities, active nail infections, or prefer very long extensions, we’ll map safer alternatives. We’ll complete a quick contraindication check and tailor the plan to your nail health and goals.
